The Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC), based at the University of Oregon, was established in 1992 to provide technical assistance to organizations setting up computer networks in developing areas for collaborative research, education and international partnerships. Over the past twenty years, the NSRC has worked with universities, research institutes, Internet Service Providers, non-governmental organizations, governmental and supranational agencies, and industry to help develop networks and cyberinfrastructure resources in Africa, Asia/Pacific, Latin America/Caribbean, and the Middle East. TERNET-NSRC 2012 Workshops

From April 16-20, 2012 the NSRC taught two workshops in parallel at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) to assist with the continued development of a robust, high-performance campus and national research and education (NREN) network in Tanzania (TERNET). The workshops were Campus Network Design and Security and Linux System Administration and IP Services and were attended by 55 participants from over 30 institutions of higher learning in Tanzania.

The NSRC donated switches and routers provided by Google and Cisco Systems to member institutions of TERNET once the workshops were completed. The event was made possible by the generous support of several local sponsors as well as NSRC supporters. A full list of workshop sponsors can be seen here.
